ALEXANDRIA, VA. – Yesterday, Delegate Mark Sickles (D-43) completed filing for re-election for the Virginia House of Delegates’ 43rd District seat. Delegate Sickles has served in the House of Delegates for more than 13 years and is seeking his 8th term in office.
“It has been an honor to represent the 43rd District in Richmond. I am in my 14th year fighting for Northern Virginia’s middle-class working families, for increased and affordable educational opportunities, for better transportation solutions, equality, women’s rights, and economic policies to help us diversify as federal sequestration remains a threat to our economy.”
“More so than ever before, experienced hands are needed in Richmond to ensure the divisive rhetoric in our national politics does not further infect our Commonwealth. Important progress has been made over the past eight years as we recovered from the Great Recession, including the historic investment in our transportation infrastructure, that needs to be protected.”
“Throughout my term in office, Virginia has increasingly become a safer place that celebrates diversity. I seek re-election on November 7, 2017 to continue the fight for an even better Commonwealth. If elected, I will work hard for nonpartisan redistricting reform, to expand access to the ballot while maintaining the integrity of our elections, to protect the fundamental right to quality healthcare, and help build the New Virginia Economy.”
